Look Who's Standing!!

Ava has mastered cruising, now she is on to standing on her own!! She is usually playing downstairs on hard wood floors or tile, but today she was playing on the carpet in the media/game room, and gets courage to try new things. With lots of pillows and blankets surrounding her, she practiced her standing from a squatting position! She can stand unaided for around 10 seconds. She is going to be walking before we know it!! (tear!! my little baby is growing up!!)
In my ready position
Almost there...
Taking a second to look at the soccer playing on the big sreen....
Woo Hoo!! Standing like a big girl!! Mommy and Daddy are SO proud!!
(That is Jamie's nose you can see in the pictures in case you are wondering. LOL)

Uh Oh!

Look who found the stairs! It is time to invest in a baby gate!

Momma's Making Alphabet Soup....

...with one very fat little baby!

Ava is 8 Months Old!!!

And what better way to celebrate than to have Jamie's oldest brother and his family finally home from living in Germany for the past 3 years. Bubbie, Pam, Lauren, Jessica and Nolan arrived home this past Sunday, and came to visit family in College Station this week. We were lucky enough to have them stay the night with us on Thursday. It was such a blessing to be able to visit with them and catch up on lost time. This was the first time for them to meet Miss Ava, and they all adored her. Ava really took to Bubbie. She would just blush and hide her face every time he looked at her! It was too cute!

I was so happy to be visiting with them, I didn't get that many pictures...but here are a few that I did get.

Ava and Nolan
Ava and Lauren. (Yes, there are two Lauren Harris' in the family.)
Watching soccer in the new media room. Nolan loved all of the walking sticks around our house. He even let one crawl all over him!!
If there is a motorized vehicle around, Jamie just HAS to take the baby for a ride. Yes, one more redneck thing we do in our front yard! (To date she has ridden a lawn mower, 4-wheeler, and go cart...all in our front yard!)
We also enjoyed sever games of cornhole or beanbags on our front porch while they were here. I am sure our neighbors just LOVE us.

We are SO happy to have our family back in the U.S.!! Welcome Home!!

Bounce House Baby!!

Ava is the proud owner of a bounce house/ball pit! She wasn't sure about it at first...when I laid her in the balls she would just lay comatose not sure abut what to do. It was too funny! Now she crawls around and plays with the balls.

Making static in her comb over... (I love her face!)
Whoa...look at her Donald Trump comb over on static!
This is her "not sure about laying in these balls" face. haha.
Really getting into it now!

"This ball pit business is tough work!"
"Just kidding Mom, I am still full on energy!!"

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!

Jamie had the best Father's Day this year. We were in South Padre on the actual day, but this year he got the best gift EVER...a home theater! You heard me right! Every man's dream. Complete with a projector, 4 seat leather relclining sectional, and 106 inch projection screen. We are still putting it all together, but here is the screen so far. (If you look closely you can see Nacho Libre on the screen...the first movie that got tested out...hehe.)

HAPPY FATHERS DAY JAMIE!!!

South Padre Island

This past weekend we went to South Padre Island for the 48th Annual Harris Family Reunion. It was Ava's first time to the beach, and she absolutely loved it. Her favorite part was the sand...which was her first time to experience! She can't wait to go back when she can get a tan!

She even wrote her name in the sand!

She adores water, but wasn't too sure about COLD waves.
(Okay, so I do have a bathing suit on behind Ava. Haha.)

Sadie's Healed!

Even without stitches, you can't even tell Sadie had an injury. She is completely healed! Only if you look closely can you tell her skin is indented slightly under the fur on her cheek. YEA! She is back to her beautiful self!!!

Helping Daddy

Ava LOVES her Daddy! She lights up every time he comes around. She just loved riding around on the lawn mower with him after he finished the lawn.

Gotta love Jamie's outfit....palm leaf hat, old clothes and flip flops riding around on a lawn mower with a baby! I am sure our neighbors are wondering why they let us rednecks move in. (This by far is not the most redneck thing we have done!)

Who Invented These???....

I know a mom did not invent teething biscuits, because no mother would make something SOOO messy in addition to the added strains of a teething baby! Seriously, a bath is needed after each one!

Slow down Sister! Don't put the WHOLE thing in your mouth!

"Say what?"

Covered after eating only 1/3 of the biscuit!
"What do you mean I have to take a bath now?!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
