On Friday morning Jamie was playing fetch with Sadie while working in the garage. He threw her toy over his shoulder not really paying attention where he threw it. Well, being the obsessive compulsive retriever that she is (she will play fetch until she can no longer walk...literally!), she went after her toy full force even though it had not gone far. The culprit- a forest green T post around some new trees in our neighbors yard...the result- a huge gash in Sadie's cheek!! OUCH! Either she was so intent on getting that toy that she didn't see the T post, or the color of it blended with the grass and she just didn't see it. Of course, being the mother that I am, I was immediately on the phone with every vet in Bastrop. :) She could have gotten stitches, but was very expensive since she would need to be put under anaesthesia and it would only have left a smaller scar, or put her on antibiotics. So she is currently recovering with antibiotics and some TLC. It hasn't bothered her one bit...in fact she barely let out a yelp when it happened. Poor Sadie!!
